About the Journal

Engineering Review

Engineering Review is an international journal designed to foster the exchange of ideas and transfer of knowledge between scientists and engineers involved in various engineering sciences that deal with investigations related to design, materials, technology, maintenance and manufacturing processes. It is not limited to the specific details of science and engineering but is instead devoted to a very wide range of subfields in the engineering sciences. It provides an appropriate resort for publishing the papers covering prior applications – based on the research topics comprising the entire engineering spectrum. Topics of particular interest thus include: mechanical engineering, naval architecture and marine engineering, fundamental engineering sciences, electrical engineering, computer sciences and civil engineering. Manuscripts addressing other issues may also be considered if they relate to engineering oriented subjects. The contributions, which may be analytical, numerical or experimental, should be of significance to the progress of mentioned topics. Papers that are merely illustrations of established principles or procedures generally will not be accepted. Occasionally, the magazine is ready to publish high-quality-selected papers from the conference after being renovated, expanded and written in accordance with the rules of the magazine. Review articles will not be considered. The high standard of excellence for any of published papers will be ensured by peer-review procedure.

Peer Review Procedure

All submitted papers are selected for publication by means of a double-blind peer review in order to guarantee the high standards set by this journal. Both the authors and the reviewers are unaware of their respective identities. A manuscript submitted to Engineering Review undergoes an initial prescreening by the Editorial Board in order to determine whether the paper fits the scope of the journal, and meets the standards for publication. If it does, the paper is sent to review, where the assigned Section Editor sends the received papers, to at least two experts in the field. The evaluation form used by reviewers contains a checklist in order to help the reviewers shortlist all aspects that can decide for or against publication. The reviewers must include observations and suggestions for improvement that are anonymously sent to the authors. The reviewers remain anonymous to the authors and evaluate independently. If the two reviewers provide contradicting verdicts (accept/reject), the paper is sent to a third reviewer or the decision is made by the Section Editor. The final decision for publication is made by the Section Editor, subject to oversight by the Editor-in-chief. The authors are responsible for the content of each article. All submissions are screened for plagiarism.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Publication Frequency

Engineering Review is published three times per year.
