External characteristic analysis and stator parameter optimization for a torque converter
Keywords:

The performance of a flattened hydraulic torqueconverter is optimized with orthogonal experimentand response surface method, consideringparameters of its stator blade, defined with nonuniformrotational B-splines. The optimizationmodel, with maximum of the stalling torque ratio asan objective, is determined through an externalcharacteristic statistical analysis under the newEuropean Driving Cycle condition. Theoptimization results show that the stall torque ratiois increased by 10.83%, while the highest efficiencyis above 84%.Downloads
