Abstract

Hot bending and die quenching for U-shaped partswith ultra-high-strength boron steel wereexperimented and simulated to study the effect ofdie geometric parameters on springback and itsmechanism. The results indicate that through hotcontact bending and die quenching, bending partswith higher strength than that of cold stamping canbe achieved, the tensile strength of which can reach1500MPa. The springback angle of hot bendingpart increases by increasing the die radius, byincreasing the gap between the punch and the die.Springback is mainly negative caused by/due todifferent cooling rate and the impact of thermalrestoring moments. This provides a basis for thecontrol of the hot stamping process applied in theproduction of complicated shape parts.
