SMALL CRAFT STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS SCANTLINGS
Abstract
In this paper, an example of small craft structural elements scantlings calculations is presented, with relevance to Lloyd’s Register classification rules. Afterwards, calculations have been checked with the Lloyd’s Special Service Craft, 5,0 software. The intent was to define the dimensions of major structural scantling elements for the small GRP craft considered and also to design a midship section and longitudinal section drawings on which would be visible, except for the calculated dimensions of transversal and longitudinal elemental structures of the hull, the main structural topology and disposition. Such attained dimensions and drawings of structural elements are basic to the further technological breakdown in the sense of defining a laminate plan and structural details.Downloads
