SIMULATION OF VORTEX EXCITED VIBRATIONS OF A BICABLE ROPEWAY
Abstract
The presented work discusses one of the many response phenomena in the field of fluid–structure interaction, i.e. vortex-excited vibrations. The dynamic model of the examined bicable ropeway is created. Mathematical equations are derived and solved by means of numerical simulation. A methodology for studying the vortex-excited vibrations in aerial ropeways is suggested. All results, obtained during the simulation, are compared to experimental data and the coincidence satisfies the engineering criteria. The proposed models are user-friendly and flexible and thus their applicability for scientific and engineering purposes is actuated.Downloads
